1. When and how often are the classes?
Our standard courses run for 3 months (12 weeks) with two 90-minute classes (= 2 academic hours) per week. One course is 48 academic hours. The exact days and times of the classes depend on the course group and level.
2. Do I need to take a level test before I start a course? How do I know what my level is?
Yes, before you register for a course at Excellence you need to come to our school for a level test and a personal consultation with one of our teachers. That way we can be sure that you start learning in the group and at the level that is most suitable for you.
3. Is there an exam at the end of the course?
At the end of each course you’ll do an end-of-term test. The combined results of this test, the mid-term test, but also your performance in class and your preparation at home will determine whether you are ready to move up to the next level.
4. Will I get a certificate at the end of the course?
At the end of each course at Excellence, all students receive a certificate which states their level related to the Common European Framework (CEF) for languages. Depending on your test results and performance in class, you’ll receive a certificate either for attendance, or for successful completion of the course. View a sample Excellence certificate here.
5. I see that your courses have already started. Can I still register and join a group?
Yes, sometimes this is possible, but this depends on how long ago the course started, and what your entry level is. The best thing to do, when you want to start a course late, Is to contact us as soon as possible, so that we can test your level and discuss the options with you.
6. How can I pay the tuition fee?
All fees are payable in full before the start of the course. They may be paid by bank transfer or in cash at our office. Unfortunately, at the moment we do not have a payment terminal and as such cannot accept debit-/creditcards.
7. Do you have courses for complete beginners?
At Excellence, we offer courses from complete beginner to proficiency level (levels А1 – С2 on the Common European Framework (CEF) for languages. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you don’t speak English, Bulgarian or Dutch, but want to learn the language.
8. What other language is used in class beside the language being taught?
Our teaching methodology allows our classes to be completely in the target language, so you will start listening to and speaking the language you want to learn right from the start. This helps you to master the language faster and more effectively.
9. Can I take classes at home or at my office?
If you would like a teacher to come to your home or office for classes, we can offer private or corporate language training, specifically suited to your needs. Please bear in mind that for off-site courses a travel charge will apply, which will depend on the location.
10. Can I successfully complete a course if I have missed a number of lessons?
In principle, to successfully complete a course you need to have missed no more than 8 lessons, and prove your language competency through tests and class performance.

12. How much do individual / private classes cost?
This depends on the course duration, location and focus of the lessons. Each private language learning programme is unique, so please contact us directly for pricing and further information.
